This is a water color done with several interesting techniques. Pouring: which involves wetting the paper and pouring several washes onto the wet surface. Salt: This is sprinkling salt onto the wet paint to get textural effects. After the paint is dry the paint filled salt crystals are brushed off. Torn masking tape: The fence is created by taking torn masking tape and placing it onto the paper before wetting. All of the pouring, salt, pouring are done with it on the paper. After the last pouring the tape is removed and the details are added. there are no pencil marks because the only thing planned is the fence. I let the paint tell me where the light source should be and where to put the foliage and grasses in the foreground.
